Heidelberg Materials is seeking a qualifiedMine Manager.Reporting to the Area Manager for British Columbia Aggregates, this position manages, directs and coordinates the overall mining and production operations at our Sechelt Mine.

What You99ll Get To Do:

  • Provide leadership to the Sechelt mine99s management team and employees in all aspects of mining, production, repair and maintenance, quality control and administration.
  • Implement and enhance the mine99s safety program to accomplish Heidelberg99s 9czero harm9d standard.
  • Develop, implement and execute specific strategies, plans and objectives to maximize the utility of resources, continuously improve the mine99s productivity and minimize costs.
  • Develop operating budgets and identify capital spending projects, prepare their authorization and ensure successful implementation of the recommended projects.
  • Oversee compliance with environmental and mining regulations, policies and procedures and continue the mine99s award-winning reclamation program.
  • Develop and maintain a constructive relationship with the company99s First Nations partners.

  • Minimum 10 years99 experience in mining or building materials production
  • Substantial leadership experience with proven track record of achieving results in a complex production environment
  • Knowledge of collective agreements and experience working in a unionized environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Work Environment:

  • Role operates primarily a professional office environment, but requires conducting business at manufacturing locations and job sites where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, and elevated noise levels
