Senior Frontend Application Engineer who shares our drive to push boundaries and build secure, data-driven applications that make a real difference.
In this role, you will support immediate software development and sustainment efforts for a vital Reporting Tool Suite. Your focus will be on the WEBCANDID and TESTFLIGHT tools. WEBCANDID tracks, administers, and archives requests for mission-critical published intelligence reports used globally by the Intelligence Community, while TESTFLIGHT delivers high-performance geospatial collaboration as a single repository for finished intelligence products. You will play a key role in enhancing Section 508 accessibility for both current interfaces while spearheading the redevelopment of a brand-new frontend interface built for optimal accessibility and performance.
Location & Work Environment- Primary Location: Annapolis Junction, MD
- Work Style: On-site (no telework available)
Compensation & Benefits- Salary Range: $150,000 - $250,000 (USD) base annual salary. Actual compensation offered may vary based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
Required Skills- Clearance: Active Fully-Cleared with Poly.
- Core Web Architecture: Advanced, thorough understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Java Ecosystem: Proven software engineering experience utilizing Java 8+ environments.
- Framework Proficiency: Hands-on development experience utilizing Angular, Google Web Toolkit (GWT), Primefaces, and Quarkus.
- Interface Integration: Demonstrated capability understanding, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex data interfaces across multiple distinct applications.
Education & Experience- Level: Mid- or Senior-Level preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of seven (7) years of professional software development experience working on programs of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, System Engineering, or a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Substitution: Four (4) years of additional relevant software experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree (totaling 11 years of experience).
Desired Skills- Accessibility Compliance: Practical knowledge of 508/WAI-ARIA requirements and direct proficiency working with screen readers.
- Database Management: Operational familiarity with Oracle database systems.
- Cloud Architecture: Experience developing or deploying applications within Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Domain Expertise: Familiarity with agency reporting frameworks, dissemination tools, and strict classification policies.
- Agile Methods: Experience collaborating in an Agile software development lifecycle utilizing Jira and Confluence.
