Summary of Role

Health & Benefits North America (H&BNA) is seeking a MidMarket Specialties Leader to play a pivotal role in driving the strategy, growth, and delivery of specialty capabilities across the MidMarket segment.

The MidMarket (MM) Specialties Leader is a key member of the Health & Benefits Strategy & Specialty leadership team with accountability for the strategy, growth, talent, and delivery of specialty capabilities serving the MidMarket segment. In this role, you will have primary responsibility for holistically advancing performance of the specialty teams (Compliance Audit & MHPAEA, Group Benefits, Health, Equity & Wellbeing, Pharmacy) through revenue growth, talent development, intellectual capital, and consistent, high quality client delivery for the MidMarket.

The MM Specialties Leader is responsible for shaping and executing the mid-market specialty strategy in support of business objectives and in collaboration with H&BNA Leadership, strengthening WTW's differentiated value proposition, and ensuring specialty solutions are scalable and market relevant. The role serves as the senior leadership connection point for MidMarket specialty talent and works in close partnership with regional, office, and other specialty leadership including the Large Market Specialty Leader and the Strategy & Specialty Leader for H&B.

The Role

The MM Specialties Leader will directly influence MidMarket performance, talent sustainability, and WTW's market reputation. The role will report into the Strategy & Specialties Leader for H&B North America/Global.

Key responsibilities include:

Specialty Strategy, Growth, and Market Impact

  • Develop and execute the Mid-Market specialty strategy to support segment growth objectives, market positioning, and client value propositions


  • Partner with Regional, MidMarket leaders, Large Market specialty leaders, and the Strategy & Specialty leader to ensure specialty solutions meet evolving segment needs


  • Drive innovation and differentiation across specialty offerings for the MidMarket, including the development and deployment of scalable solutions and intellectual capital


  • Strengthen WTW's external MidMarket specialty presence through thought leadership, client engagement, and market-facing activity such as an annual go-to-market/sales-focused event for the MidMarket


  • Maintain senior-level relationships with carriers, vendors, and strategic partners, leveraging market influence to shape solutions and advocate for client needs while strengthening WTW's standing and strategic position externally.


Financial and Performance Accountability

  • Maintain accountability for specialty performance outcomes, including revenue growth, margin contribution, and key performance indicators


  • Monitor specialty financial performance in partnership with finance and operations leaders, identifying risks and opportunities to improve results.

    o Work with finance and Strategy & Specialty H&BNA leadership to identify the right measurement and reporting system needed to accomplish this.


  • Ensure specialty delivery models support efficient staffing, quality execution, and sustainable growth


Talent Development and Subject Matter Expert Excellence

  • Own the MidMarket specialty talent model, including recruiting strategy, leadership development, succession planning, and colleague development and engagement


  • Establish clear accountabilities and performance expectations for specialists that drive independent thinking, individual ownership, intellectual rigor, and client impact.


  • Build a strong pipeline of specialty talent for the MidMarket to support current and future business needs


  • Foster a culture of purposeful collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous development across specialty communities


Collaboration and Enterprise Leadership

  • Work collaboratively with region leaders, office local leaders, and specialty leaders to align priorities and deliver integrated client solutions for the MidMarket.


  • Serve as a trusted advisor and escalation point for specialty-related client, talent, and delivery matters for the MidMarket.


  • Act as a visible leader who models WTW values, inclusive leadership behaviors, and accountability


  • Ensure effective partnership with the Large Market Specialties Leader to maintain a singular (One H&B) position that guides our specialty and expertise mantra to the market. The goal will be to drive and execute on a unique MidMarket specialty strategy while driving the proper level of WTW connected activity and messaging.


Qualifications

The Requirements

  • Minimum of 15+ years of industry experience driving significant direct and successful client consulting.


  • Proven senior leadership experience with accountability for people, strategy, and business outcomes (at least one prior WTW leadership role preferred)


  • Multi-specialty background with demonstrated expertise and success across complex engagements


  • Strong track record of developing leaders and managing teams at scale


  • Demonstrated success in recruiting, developing, and retaining high performing talent


  • Strong business and financial acumen with experience managing KPIs and performance outcomes


  • Executive presence with well-developed written and verbal communication skills


  • Ability to collaborate effectively across regions, segments, and specialty areas


  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and leading through change


  • Demonstrated commitment to and embodiment of WTW values

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that base salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role and potential for revenue generation.

Compensation

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $200,000-$330,000 USD per year.

This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus
