The Opportunity

As a Mid-Level Instructional Designer on the Real Estate Lending Operational Change Management Team, you will play a critical role in shaping the learning experiences that support USAA Real Estate Lending. You will partner strategically with business SMEs to analyze needs, design, and develop engaging learning solutions using industry-leading instructional design methods and technologies. Your expertise will be instrumental in facilitating operational changes, enhancing employee skills, and ensuring the successful adoption of new processes and systems.

You will also partner with business leaders and Product Managers to gather and validate learning requirements (performance requirements, measures of success, terms, and conditions). Perform analyses, design, and develop alearning curriculum to improve performance of USAA employees. Assess the learning outcomes that need to be achieved, understand the performance expectations and gaps, and assist in deriving the appropriate learning solution.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position will be based out of San Antonio; TX, Plano; TX, Charlotte; NC, Colorado Springs; CO, Tampa; FL or Phoenix; AZ. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What youll do:

  • Designs and develops interactive facilitator-led and online content that meets the learning needs of the business.

  • Organizes course content to produce curriculum that meets learning needs of the business.

  • Develops and manages timelines and milestones.

  • Collaborates with internal business partners to validate that curriculum solutions align to business priorities and strategy for operational effectiveness.

  • Creates learning objectives, storyboard or design documentation and learning approaches targeted to business goals and requirements.

  • Completes peer-to-peer reviews to ensure consistency, quality, and appropriate use of course content guidelines.

  • Collaborates with 3rd party vendor team to manage and engage third party vendor relationships to provide appropriate learning solutions to specific audiences.

  • Applies understanding of the business, its products, and processes to reshape content for changing needs.

  • Reviews work in partnership with contract designer to ensure deliverables are aligned with business requests.

  • Collaborates with Learning Performance Consultants (LPC) to gather information and provide design recommendations.

  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • Bachelors degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.

  • 4 years progressive work experience in instructional design projects to include knowledge and application of instructional design methodologies and multi-media development technologies.

  • Proficient in Articulate Storyline, Rise and Review 360, VYOND and other Rapid Learning & Development tools.

  • Experience in developing creative and professional PowerPoint presentations for executive-level audiences and key stakeholders.

  • Experience with JIRA/JWM.

  • Background in Real Estate Lending.

  • Proven track record balancing multiple projects in a flexible work environment showcasing ultra collaboration in a matrixed environment.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $69,920- $133,620.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
