Our Industrial Market is expanding due to new work in Hyperscale Data Centers, and increased work in the Water/Wastewater and Campus/Industrial energy sectors of our business. We are adding Mid to Senior Electrical/I&C Designers to our Kiewit Industrial & Water Engineering (KIWE) team in various locations. Our rapidly growing Industrial Engineering team, which includes process, mechanical, electrical, controls, structural, architectural, geotechnical, and civil disciplines, is a multi-faceted and leading-edge division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical expertise focused on EPC and design-build delivery of industrial projects in markets such as Food & Beverage, Mineral Processing, Renewable Fuels, Pulp and Paper, Steel & Aluminum, Industrial Buildings, and Industrial Energy, Water and Utilities.

Location

This position can be based out of locations where we have Kiewit offices (Lenexa, KS, Lone Tree CO, Bloomington MN, Houston TX). We offer relocation assistance to our Lenexa, Kansas district office only.

Please note: To work in our Bloomington or Houston office, we are looking for Senior Designers only *(10 years and up)

Responsibilities
• Utilize Revit 3D and Smartplant 3D design tools to design and draft drawings for electrical systems for buildings and industrial facilities, which can include wiring, power distribution diagrams, electrical schematics, circuit diagrams, raceway design/sizing and equipment layout, cable management systems and sizing of cables, grounding layout, lighting, lightening protection, equipment locations, conduit layout.
• Utilize codes and standards to complete assignments with little supervision.
• Identifies changes in the scope of work during a small project and produces design changes as needed to stay within budget and schedule.
• Takes initiative to meet or exceed the quality and expected outcome requirements of internal and external customers.
• Performs assigned work efficiently and effectively to maximize productivity, while complying with company standards to produce quality deliverables.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or Associates degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology and a minimum of 4 years Electrical and/or I&C design/drafting experience, which includes experience working in 3D and 2D. If no degree, High School diploma + 8 years' related experience.
• Intermediate to advanced skills in 3D Modeling, using REVIT and/or other software like AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Smartplant3D or Microstation skills. Must have experience with electrical or instrumentation and controls design/drafting for drawings, P&IDs, One Line Diagrams, Panel designs, electrical layouts. Develops and presents work in well-constructed written and verbal presentation.
• Works collaboratively across departments and involves others in solving problems. Initiates meetings within own team, other disciplines or internal customers for clarity on work.
• Supports project teams and departments with design support for drawings, specifications, IO Lists. Works well with other to accomplish common goals and objectives. Understanding of NEC code and ANSI/IEEE standards.
• Able to manage multiple responsibilities with set expectations and meet deadlines. Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Detail oriented and a strong team player
• Experience working with multi-disciplined teams, and subcontractors for equipment. Experience with design for construction preferred; Design/Build, EPC project experience preferred.

** For more Senior Level Designers - must have at least 10 years in 3D modeling with REVIT skills in electrical and/or instrumentation/controls design and experience leading projects and teams, overseeing budget and schedule for a project or portions of a project.

Base Compensation: $70,000 - $125,000
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
