Role introduction

As a D365 F&O Functional Solution Architect you can expect to...
  • Serve as the lead Functional Solution Architect on complex, enterprise-scale Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations implementations, owning the overall functional architecture across multiple modules, business areas, and workstreams.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to client executives, translating business strategy into scalable, compliant, and future-ready D365 F&O solutions that support long-term business objectives.
  • Lead solution envisioning, assessment, and analysis activities, ensuring business requirements, operational goals, and technology capabilities align within a cohesive enterprise solution.
  • Own and validate end-to-end functional solution design across finance, operations, integrations, data, security, reporting, and related business processes.
  • Lead Business Process Analysis (BPA), Solution Blueprint development, and Fit/Gap assessments, providing recommendations aligned with Microsoft standards and industry best practices.
  • Contribute to enterprise-level project estimation efforts, including scope definition, delivery strategy, resource planning, risk identification, and commercial assumptions.
  • Serve as the functional design authority throughout design, build, testing, deployment, and go-live activities, guiding teams through complex business and technical decisions.
  • Establish and govern testing strategies, issue resolution processes, and cross-functional coordination to ensure successful delivery across integrations and dependent workstreams.
  • Review and approve key project deliverables, including functional specifications, test scripts, data migration strategies, deployment plans, and readiness activities.
  • Ensure training, knowledge transfer, and adoption strategies position clients for long-term success, operational ownership, and self-sufficiency.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for functional and solution-related issues during implementation, hypercare, and post-go-live stabilization.
  • Contribute to the evolution of HSO delivery methodologies, standards, accelerators, and best practices while mentoring Functional Solution Architects, Senior Consultants, and Functional Consultants across the organization.

  • 8+ years of combined experience delivering Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O and/or AX solutions, including the architecture and implementation of complex enterprise systems.
  • Proven experience leading multi-phase, multi-country, enterprise-scale implementations.
  • Experience across the full project lifecycle, including assessment, analysis, business case development, solution envisioning, planning, deployment, and benefits realization.
  • A demonstrated ability to deliver measurable business value for executive stakeholders and serve as a trusted advisor during key decision-making processes.
  • Deep understanding of business operations, financial processes, and industry drivers, preferably within Financial Services, Public Sector, Media, or Life Sciences.
  • Working knowledge of relevant ISV solutions, integrations, and broader Microsoft ecosystem tools.
  • The ability to operate comfortably between executive-level architecture discussions and hands-on delivery leadership as project demands require.
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O Financials certifications preferred.
  • Familiarity with and/or experience using D365 F&O Workflow.
  • Flexibility to travel as the needs of clients and the business dictate.
