Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

**This is a remote position***
  • Promote Meliá Hotels International's global portfolio to meeting planners, sourcing managers, incentive houses, and key decision-makers to generate new RFP opportunities and increase group booking conversion.
  • Identify and develop new MICE business opportunities within assigned territories.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with 3rd Party clients, end user accounts, hotel sales partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Support contract negotiations, sales follow-up, and business development initiatives.
  • Generate new leads and maintain accurate reporting within Salesforce/MARS system.
  • Participate in trade shows, sales missions, networking events, and customer activations.
  • Promote hotel offers, destination experiences, and brand value propositions.

Event Planning & Project Management
  • Coordinate and execute hospitality-focused events including roadshows, networking events, familiarization trips, site inspections, incentive experiences, and Meliá Signature Experiences throughout the year.
  • Manage event logistics including venue sourcing, airfare, transportation, rooming lists, vendors, gifting, branding, entertainment, and on-site execution.
  • Develop project timelines, budgets, operational checklists, and event communications.
  • Serve as the liaison between sales teams, hotel leadership, clients, vendors, and partners to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Coordinate attendee management, client profiles, travel logistics, and event documentation.
  • Support immersive and elevated customer experiences that strengthen engagement and brand visibility globally.
  • Track event ROI, attendance, feedback, and business opportunities generated.


Qualifications & Skills
  • Strong global sales acumen with a proactive approach to business development and relationship management.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven experience in sales, meeting planning, hospitality event management, and project coordination.
  • Experience managing meetings, roadshows, conferences, networking events, and VIP experiences.
  • Strong sales approach, organizational, time management, budgeting, and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience coordinating event logistics including travel, venues, vendors, rooming lists, and on-site operations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Salesforce/MARS systems, Cvent, and RFP management tools.
  • Strong collaboration skills with internal teams, hotel operations, vendors, and clients.
  • Knowledge of hospitality and MICE industry.
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently, including evenings and weekends.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Minimum Requirements
  • Hospitality & Tourism Degree Preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in hospitality sales, meeting planning, event management, or a related MICE-focused role preferred.
  • Experience within the hospitality, hotel, destination marketing, or meetings and incentives industry strongly preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

Language Requirements
  • Native or bilingual proficiency in English.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and diplomacy.
