Job Description

Provide tactical quality engineering support for value stream. Provide technical direction and support to the Quality Engineering and Production teams, fostering an environment of proactive and continuous improvement towards quality assurance.

Responsibilities

  • Tactical support for supply chain
  • Assure inspection methods, process controls, process flow, inspection equipment, MSA, trained personnel are in compliance for an uninterrupted flow of material through the value stream.
  • Actively participate in problem solving and continuous improvement. Customer complaints awareness and linkage to inspection performance, quality alerts, voice of the customer.
  • Address nonconformities and CAPAs from internal and external audits and complaints, follow-up on quality alerts, work with team to propose CAPAs and effectively close action.
  • Promotes a culture of trust, flexibility, teamwork and inclusiveness, ensuring all relevant functions are included in decision making processes as part of continuous improvement, problem solving and projects.
  • Guide and support the Quality Engineer, Quality Supervisors in the creation and proactive review of risks analysis, process flow and continuous improvement.
  • Develop, motivate, engage, coach, and inspire a team of Quality supervisors, engineer and inspectors creating a positive team dynamic that encourages all employees to provide feedback and drive change.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality engineering or a related role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated use of problem solving, risk management and continues improvement tools
  • Effective communicator for employees, direct reports, cross-functional teams, and senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with various work groups.
  • Communication-strong written and verbal skills; able to present complex issues and problems to widely different audiences-internally and externally
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities-able to address complex problems from a functional area, problem identification and resolution using data-driven, and trend driven approaches (metrics)
  • Experience with report preparation, writing, and presentation; Organizational change management skills; strategic and tactical thinking

Additional Skills (Preferred)
  • Experience in a regulated industry, such as medical devices.
