What You'll Do:
  • Support the Tactical Solutions business unit within BAE Systems, Inc., Space & Mission Systems sector as a capture manager for a variety of pursuits. This includes identifying, pursuing, developing, and winning business opportunities with various government organizations.
  • Fulfill role of Chief Technologist for RF Mission Systems; applying technical knowledge and industry expertise to provide technical guidance and strategy to the RF Mission Systems Product Area
  • Coordinate and establish contacts with key US Government and industry customers and stakeholders.
  • Build trusting relationships with customers through demonstrated technical expertise and knowledge of customer needs.
  • Work with other Mission Systems Product Line team members, customers, and end users to find solutions to today's needs and help develop concepts for next generation platforms.
  • Develop and communicate messages, marketing, competition assessments, and customer insights to pursuit teams and leadership based on our core values of integrity, honesty, transparency, and collaboration.
  • Assess market potential for existing markets and develop investment plans to penetrate new or lateral markets. Establish industrial partnerships necessary to effectively compete in Tactical Solutions markets.
  • Propose and collaborate with the Mission Systems Chief Technologist on innovative research & development projects. Coordinate technology development with other business areas as appropriate.
  • Work with our prime and government customers to translate technical performance for EO/IR and/or RF mission systems into recommended Concepts of Employment to provide the maximum tactical advantage to our warfighters.
  • Assist in the development and communication of proposal strategy, including pursuit analysis, bidding strategies, technical presentations, win themes, key points, and pricing.
  • Coordinate all proposal activities, prepare various inputs, and oversee final proposal preparation and delivery. Oversee study efforts having the potential to evolve into new business capture opportunities.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.

Working Conditions:
  • Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.


Short Term Incentive: Subject to business performance and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.

Required Skills and Education

  • BS/BA in related field plus 12 years or more related experience.
  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • A current, active Secret security clearance is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret.
  • Demonstrated expertise/experience in RF electronics technology (or adjacent field), capabilities, and applications
  • Influencing, communication and team skills will be critical to successful execution of the duties of the position.
  • Experienced presentation skills with documented presentation experience to senior decision making and technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated proposal leadership experience, demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills in relevant business environments.

Preferred Skills and Education

  • A current, active Top Secret security clearance.
  • Proposal management and business capture experience is preferred.
  • Programmatic background within classified program environments for government or industry.
  • Experience in leading design teams and new business capture activities.
  • Solid technical writing skills.
