Job DescriptionThe Manager of IT Portfolio Management leads a team responsible for portfolio management, stakeholder engagement, demand intake, resource and capacity planning, prioritization, and governance activities across assigned business domains. This role ensures operational priorities are translated into well-defined, strategically aligned technology initiatives and that portfolio investments are balanced against organizational priorities, available resources, and enterprise strategy.
The Manager serves as a key partner to operational, clinical, and IT leaders by providing visibility into demand, resource constraints, portfolio health, and investment opportunities. This role helps drive informed decision-making, portfolio alignment, and technology planning while developing a high-performing team of Portfolio Management Analysts.
Responsibilities- Lead portfolio planning, prioritization, and governance activities across assigned business domains.
- Provide oversight of demand intake, portfolio health, resource capacity, and investment alignment.
- Guide prioritization decisions by balancing business value, resource availability, strategic objectives, and organizational constraints.
- Develop reporting and portfolio visibility mechanisms that support leadership decision-making.
- Partner with operational and IT leaders to identify technology opportunities, resource impacts, risks, and dependencies.
- Establish portfolio management standards, intake processes, and governance practices.
- Lead and develop Portfolio Management Analysts responsible for stakeholder engagement, demand management, and portfolio planning.
- Coach team members on strategic thinking, portfolio analysis, stakeholder engagement, and facilitation.
QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSEXPERIENCE:- Demonstrated experience in healthcare IT, portfolio management, demand management, resource planning, healthcare operations, business relationship management, project delivery, or related leadership roles.
- 4 years of leadership - project management, supervisor, or relevant management experience
- Demonstrated experience working across clinical, operational, and technology teams
- Strong understanding of healthcare technology ecosystems (EHR, infrastructure, integrations)
EDUCATION:- Bachelor's degree in information systems, Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSEXPERIENCE:- Experience with enterprise healthcare platforms such as Epic, Oracle, and others.
- Experience with ServiceNow, Power BI, Jira, or similar tools
- Experience in strategic planning, portfolio governance, or IT service management
EDUCATION:- Master's degree (preferred) in information systems, healthcare administration, business, or related field.
