Job DescriptionBAE Systems is hiring a Fabrication Manufacturing Engineering Manager within our Combat Mission Systems (CMS) business. This role will be responsible for leading a cross functional team of engineers and driving performance results within the Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle (AMPV) program. The AMPV Fabrication Manufacturing Engineering Manager will remain highly focused on driving results across safety, schedule, quality, and costs in support of the program's business demands. This position requires a strong leader who can sustain a productive and positive environment through administering key guidance to the team and supporting timely barrier resolution. Proactive planning and early risk identification capabilities are instrumental to being successful in this role. The Fabrication Manufacturing Engineering Mangager will be expected to represent the team, technical challenges, and issue resolutions to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Drive technical issue resolution across process areas with an operational focus oriented around safety, schedule and quality.
- Facilitate continued maturation of the manufacturing team through closing skill gaps and fostering cross training opportunities
- Lead the shaping of process optimization initiatives to develop sustainable and consistent outcomes
- Coordinate closely with operational leadership to maintain alignment in the prioritization of improvements, issue resolutions, and associated resource allocation.
- Represents manufacturing interest as needed in Material Review Board (MRB), Production Review Board (PRB), and appropriate Integrated Production Team (IPT) meetings
- Coordinate across cross functional teams to drive timely resolution to complex manufacturing challenges both internally and external to the BAE Systems York site
- Maintain consistent accountability across the team in respect to action ownership, timeline commitment, and quality of output.
Required Skills and Education- Bachelor's Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experience.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
- Demonstrated ability to work with personnel in the following areas to plan and execute programs: contracts, engineering, finance, facilities, logistics, material planning, supply chain, quality, and USG agencies including DCMA US Army, and Program Management - Mounted Armored Vehicles (PM MAV).
- Strong aptitude for applying problem solving methodologies
- Strong communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to act independently within established guidelines.
- Experience in managing technical baseline and contract changes.
- Demonstrated ability to engage cross-functional teams to understand program requirements and deliver required products on time.
- Demonstrated ability to manage interpersonal relations and conflicts.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
