Salary Range: $142,000.00 to $178,000.00

The anticipated salary range represents the estimated base pay for this role. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors, and may vary from the posted range

The Role

This position is responsible for technical leadership and overall project management (quality/schedule/budget) of the AUKUS SSNA Structures Engineering Team. This Team is primarily focused on new design support for the UK and Australian next generation fast attack submarine, SSNA, as part of the AUKUS program. This position requires working collaboratively with multiple external and foreign national organizations, including BAE Systems, Electric Boat, and vendors. All work will be performed on site at NNS, working remotely w/ BAE.

Must Have

Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of progressive technical experience in research, engineering and design; Master's Degree and 4 years of relevant experience.

Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.

Nice to Have
• Previous supervisory or project management experience is preferred
• Experience with submarines and submarine systems
• Structural engineering calculations and FEA experience
• Familiarity with submarine design processes and design tools
• Prior new design submarine program experience
• Ship construction knowledge or experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent project management skills, including a working knowledge of EVMS, Microsoft project, and/or related tools
