Full Job Description
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and also working to directly support the Chair, the Manager, Decision Support, Analytics & Business Integrity (MDSABI) provides leadership for departmental business intelligence, performance analytics, operational decision support, business integrity initiatives, and process improvement activities. This position is responsible for transforming operational and financial data into actionable insights that support strategic and tactical operational decision-making across the department. The Manager serves as a trusted advisor to departmental executive leadership by developing meaningful performance metrics, dashboards, forecasting models, and analytical tools that improve financial, operational, and revenue cycle outcomes. The position leads efforts to identify performance trends, operational risks, data quality concerns, compliance vulnerabilities, and revenue integrity opportunities while recommending corrective actions and sustainable solutions. The MDSABI collaborates closely with Revenue Cycle Operations, Finance, Practice Operations, Information Technology, Quality Assurance, and clinical and administrative leadership to establish consistent reporting standards, monitor key performance indicators, evaluate business performance, and support strategic initiatives. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and governance of critical business data while promoting a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and data-driven decision-making. The Manager leads business integrity reviews, operational audits, workflow analyses, and process redesign initiatives that improve efficiency, optimize revenue cycle performance, reduce waste and redundancy, strengthen controls, and enhance organizational effectiveness. The position serves as a subject matter expert in departmental data, reporting methodologies, and operational analytics and provides recommendations to leadership regarding opportunities for improvement, resource allocation, and performance optimization; other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Public Health, Information Systems, or a related field required
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare analytics, business operations, decision support, finance, revenue cycle, performance improvement, or related field
  • Minimum two (2) years of supervisory, management, project leadership, or team leadership experience
  • Experience with business intelligence platforms, data analytics, dashboard development, and performance reporting strongly preferred. • Healthcare provider practice, physician enterprise, academic medicine, or revenue cycle experience preferred
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision


Total Rewards

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland's Faculty Physician's Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographical location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/ training and other qualifications.
