Full Job Description
HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT

Collaborates with the CCO to develop, implement, and direct a comprehensive corporate compliance program for Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, Inc. (TMH), in accordance with federal and state regulations and TMH policies and procedures, to ensure TMH and affiliated entities have appropriate administrative, technical, and physical safeguards in place to protect the privacy of (and access) protected health information (PHI) and personal information (PI). Oversees and addresses potential compliance and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) privacy and security matters. Collaborates with the CCO and management to continually monitor regulatory risks and oversee the corporate compliance program, including compliance and organizational policy and procedures, compliance, research, conflicts of interest, HIPAA privacy and security training and education, communication, and internal investigations. Provides leadership and direction over the HIPAA compliance program, participating as a member of all compliance-related committees, compliance initiatives, and special projects (as designated by the CCO). Serves as the privacy officer in the CCO's absence

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO APPLY

Required Education:

Bachelor's degree in legal studies, business administration, healthcare administration, or a closely related field. Human Resources (HR) may accept applicable post-secondary education work experience (with a high school diploma) in lieu of required education on a 1-year:1-year basis. Experience credited in lieu of education will not be applied to the minimum experience requirement below.

Required Experience:

Three (3) years of health care compliance and privacy work experience. HR may accept post-baccalaureate education for required experience on a 1-year:1-year basis

Required Certification/License/Registry:

Certified in HealthCare Compliance (CHC) and/or Certified in Health Care Privacy Compliance (CHPC) credential(s) from the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) within one (1) year post-hire.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATONS. CHC and/or CHPC credential(s) at hire. Knowledge of applicable federal and state compliance and privacy laws and regulations. Excellent analytical skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficient in maintaining a prioritized task list, incorporating and meeting deadlines. Ability to work and communicate with individuals at all organizational levels. Ability to present ideas clearly and concisely to all audiences (verbally and/or in writing). Ability to work cooperatively with co-workers, supervisors, management, and a wide variety of external contacts (e.g., general counsel, consultants, patients, and visitors). Ability to work under close direction, multi-task, and meet short deadlines. Ability to respond diplomatically to difficult and/or stressful situations. Ability to work as part of a team. Displays professionalism in all interactions.
