As a Metallurgy Team Leader based in Toronto, you will combine technical excellence, leadership, and client engagement to deliver innovative metallurgical solutions that advance sustainable resource development. You will guide a high-performing team of metallurgists while contributing to complex studies, engineering projects, and business growth initiatives across WSP's Mining and Metals practice.

Your Impact

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of metallurgists across Ontario, fostering technical excellence and career growth.
  • Drive the planning, execution, and delivery of metallurgical studies and engineering projects for new and existing mineral processing facilities.
  • Build trusted client relationships and collaborate with stakeholders to understand project needs and create practical, value-driven solutions.
  • Contribute to business development activities, including proposal preparation, client engagement, and market growth initiatives.
  • Review and approve metallurgical process deliverables, ensuring quality, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Act as a Qualified Person (QP) for technical reports and provide expert technical guidance on mineral processing and hydrometallurgical systems.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support project execution across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations.
  • Inspire innovation and continuous improvement while helping deliver projects that create lasting value for clients, communities, and the mining industry.

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in metallurgical process design, mineral processing, and hydrometallurgy.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in good standing with a recognized provincial engineering association.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical teams and mentoring engineering professionals.
  • Strong background in engineering consulting, feasibility studies, and detailed engineering projects within the mining and metals sector.
  • Proven ability to prepare, review, and sign off on technical reports as a Qualified Person (QP).
  • Strong client-facing skills with experience supporting business development and proposal activities.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence project outcomes.

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $162,200 - $212,200

MB & ON: $148,000 - $198,000

NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $146,500 - $194,600
