Description GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Licensed Mental Health Counselor will provide mental health and wellness services to students, supporting their personal, academic, and social development. This role involves direct counseling, crisis intervention, psychoeducation, and collaboration with campus stakeholders to foster a supportive and healthy campus environment. Work is performed under the general administrative supervision of the Executive Director, Student Success.
Examples of Duties ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
1. Provide short-term individual and group counseling services to students with issues ranging from anxiety and depression to academic and career concerns.
2. Work closely with students and create a safe space for students to share mental health and emotional concerns and issues.
3. Identify and address mental health, emotional, and behavior student needs.
4. Support student safety by assisting in intervention of mental health crises.
5. Conduct intake interviews, clinical assessments, and case recording.
6. Build rapport and establish trust with a diverse student population.
7. Work closely with students to and create a safe space for students to share mental health and emotional concerns.
8. Develop treatment plans with as much student involvement as possible, ensuring they are based upon recovery/resiliency-based treatment recommendations.
9. Provide crisis intervention and support to students in distress.
10. Maintain accurate, confidential, and secure client records in accordance with ethical and legal standards.
11. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings as necessary to coordinate care for students.
12. Refer students to on-campus and community resources as needed and follow up on referrals.
13. Develop and manage relationships with external service providers.
14. Ensure compliance with relevant HIPPA and FERPA regulations regarding the storage of all student treatment records and services provided.
15. Work successfully both independently and as part of a team.
16. Manage the assessment and evaluation of mental health services provided, and work with College leadership to implement recommendations for improvement.
17. Maintain requirements for licensure as required in Florida.
18. Assist in College recruitment and retention efforts, as appropriate.
19. Attend Graduation/Commencement ceremonies.
20. Other related duties as assigned.

Education and Qualifications:- Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology
- Current and valid Florida license as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist
- Experience in a college or university setting, recommended
- Experience working with Veteran's, recommended

Licenses, Certifications, or Registrations:- Current and valid Florida license as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Physical Skills:- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely required to sit, use manual dexterity, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and lift to 10 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk and lift up to 20 pounds.

FLORIDA RETIREMENT SYSTEM - Full-time and regular part-time employees participate in the Florida Retirement System (FRS). The College contributes the current retirement percentage of the individual's salary, and the employee would contribute the current retirement percentage based on their salary. Employees may choose the Pension Plan or the Investment Plan.
PAID TUITION - Tuition fees for credit courses taken at the College are waived for employees and their eligible dependents, including domestic partners. Tuition and student fees are waived for non-credit physical education courses. Contingent upon approval, $1,000 reimbursement is available each fiscal year through Staff & Program Development (S&PD), for completion of course work toward a degree which results in demonstrated benefit to the College.
