Job Description

We are hiring a Memory Care Director at Balfour at Riverfront that leads the  Memory Care program by managing daily operations, ensuring high-quality care, and promoting an engaging, purposeful lifestyle for residents living with dementia. This role fosters a supportive environment through team leadership, resident-focused programming, and collaboration with families and staff, aligned with Kisco’s Principles, Values, and Beliefs (PVBs) and Art of Living Well® philosophy.

Key Responsibilities Program & Resident Care
  • Oversee all aspects of the Heirloom Memory Care neighborhood.

  • Coordinate and deliver engaging, person-centered programs based on the 9 Dimensions of Wellness.

  • Regularly assess resident needs and adapt care plans accordingly.

  • Promote dignity, independence, and meaningful engagement for each resident.

  • Support behavioral care with customized, holistic interventions.

  • Ensure secure, safe, and welcoming environment.

Team Leadership
  • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate Memory Care associates.

  • Conduct team meetings, trainings, and daily huddles.

  • Promote ongoing professional development and performance management.

  • Align team performance with community goals and care standards.

Family & Community Relations
  • Communicate regularly with families; lead education and support groups.

  • Collaborate with physicians and external care providers as needed.

  • Act as a resource and advocate for residents and their loved ones.

Operations & Compliance
  • Monitor and manage labor, supply budgets, and care margin targets.

  • Ensure regulatory compliance and documentation standards.

  • Oversee daily care delivery, associate schedules, and incident reporting.

  • Support community sales and resident transitions.

Qualifications Education & Experience
  • Degree or certification in healthcare, social services, therapeutic recreation, or related field preferred.

  • 3–5 years’ experience in senior care, with at least 1–3 years in a supervisory role.

  • Experience working with individuals with dementia preferred.

Certifications
  • State-required license or certification (if applicable).

  • CPR certified.

  • Dementia care or activity/recreational therapy certification preferred.

Skills
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

  • Knowledge of dementia care best practices.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and care software.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises Memory Care associates. In collaboration with HR and leadership, responsible for hiring, training, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
