QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor s degree in Nursing; Master s degree in Nursing or higher
preferred.

License/Certifications: NYS RN License is required; certification in clinical
specialty area preferred; completion of ASHP/ISMP Medication Safety Certificate
Program within 6 months of hire.

Experience: 3 years of nursing experience required in an acute care setting;
experience with medication safety is required; experience or specific training
in Medication Safety projects and regulatory compliance activities is
preferred.

Responsible to: Directly reports to Pharmacy Manager and indirectly to the
Chief Nursing Officer

Responsible for: No direct reports

SUMMARY:
The CMH Medication Safety Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination
of activities related to medication safety in the organization. This position
provides leadership for medication safety assessments, educates providers and
staff on system-based causes for medication errors, communicates best practices
regarding effective medication safety strategies, and interfaces key
stakeholders on medication safety issues. This position will focus on
medication safety practice improvement, policy development/revision, regulatory
compliance assurance, medication safety program development, and staff
development/education.

Salary Range: $30.00 - $54.00
