About: MUSC Health - Black River is seeking a skilled Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join their team of Advanced Practice Providers. Candidates will provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive healthcare services for patients in the Pee Dee community.

Required Qualifications:
  • Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program with current licensure or eligibility for licensure in South Carolina.
  • FNP with current Emergency Room Nurse Practitioner (ENP) Certification
  • At least 2 years of Emergency Room experience as a PA or NP
  • Assistant by the South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners or as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Requires certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). If ACLS is not current, provider must enroll and have received certificate by start date.
  • APRN or PA must maintain licenses, certifications, CNEs/CMEs, etc. as required by applicable policies and state law.
  • DHEC and DEA license


Position Highlights:
  • 12pm-12am (3 days a week)

  • Evaluates and treats on the basis of history, physical examination, radiological, laboratory, and other diagnostic test results pursuant to the practice agreement or scope of practice guideline
  • Initiates referrals to other health care provides, and/or consults with the attending physician or the collaborating physician
  • Documents and bills for direct care provided
  • Potential to precept students at MUSC enrolled as an advanced practice provider student; and facilitates the learning of other new team members
  • Credentialed for all 3 locations within the Pee Dee (Florence SC, Marion SC, Black River SC)

MUSC Health Black River Medical Center opened in January 2023. The 64,000 sq. ft. rural hospital provides patients with a full range of modern diagnostic and interventional capabilities.
