Job Posting: Medical Laboratory Technologist - ChemistryWe're looking for a Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our Hematology & Chemistry team in Kelowna, British Columbia. You will be responsible for delivering in a timely manner the highest level of clinical and scientific quality to everyone we serve with a variety of testing using the latest technology. Your contributions will make a difference - the results and reports you deliver will be provided to physicians and greatly impact the downstream solutions and treatment critical to saving someone's life.
Status: Permanent Full Time
Shift: Monday to Thursday between 7.00 a.m. - 7.00 p.m (rotational shifts) and Fridays 1.00pm - 9.00pm.

How YOU will make a difference: - Ensuring sample identification is correct and specimen requirements are met according to established procedures.
- Ensuring quality control standards are maintained, investigating missing samples and performing routine maintenance on laboratory equipment.
- Recording, interpreting and/or approving test results.
- Maintaining accuracy of appropriate documents
- Troubleshooting of clinical assays and equipment
- Identifying and reporting of incidents and non-conformities
What YOU bring to the role: - You thrive independently, applying sound decision making principles and ability to self-manage in fast-paced environment
- You bring a high level of interpersonal skills and you are a natural fit within a collaborative working environment
- Carry a CSMLS Registration as a practicing Medical Laboratory Technologist in good standing
- Proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook at an intermediate level
- Solid ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide recommendations for resolution
- Nice to have: experience in chemistry
Working conditions: - Physical and Environmental Demands
- Ability to lift 30 lbs. (pounds)
- High visual requirements
- Repetitive fine motor movements of hands
- Perform duties in stationary standing/sitting positions
- Exposure to noise, chemicals, solvents and bio-hazardous and radioactive materials
- Shift work required
Pay rate: $36.00-$43.50 per hour The hiring pay range has been established; however, the final pay offer will be determined by taking into consideration various factors including but not limited to, level of experience and education requirements.
