Full Job Description
About the Role

Atropos Health is looking for a curious, technically skilled individual who thrives at the intersection of clinical knowledge and generative AI. This role is less about checking boxes on a résumé and more about what you can build. If your GitHub, Kaggle, Hugging Face, or Substack tells a compelling story, we want to hear from you.

You will work directly with our Medical Director of Content Generation to develop and scale a pipeline capable of answering clinical and research questions across hundreds of conditions and interventions. This includes producing structured, metataged content optimized for search and retrieval, sourcing and synthesizing external evidence (published studies, clinical trials, payor policies, CMS Local Coverage Determinations, and common patient/clinician questions), and integrating this content with Atropos's real-world evidence (RWE) platform.

You will be a core contributor to our ability to generate high-quality, scalable clinical intelligence - using LLMs and generative AI tools as force multipliers throughout the process.

This role does not involve providing medical advice or clinical services.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Medical Director of Content Generation to build and maintain a scalable pipeline for answering clinical and research questions across diverse disease areas and interventions
  • Develop and curate a library of common clinician and consumer questions spanning a wide range of clinical conditions - from common to rare
  • Convert clinical questions into structured phenotypes or ontological representations (e.g., ICD-10 codes, RxNORM, LOINC, CPT)
  • Metatag produced content to enable optimized search and retrieval across the Atropos platform
  • Source and integrate external content: published studies, active clinical trials, payor policies, CMS Local Coverage Determinations, and consumer-facing clinical questions
  • Verify study outputs against published literature and participate in output QA/QC processes
  • Produce reusable, well-documented code and content that can be integrated into internal tools and surfaced to external stakeholders through product and engineering collaboration
  • Use LLMs and generative AI tools to produce a variety of outputs: code, interactive widgets, PowerPoint presentations, PDFs, and markdown documents
  • Build and consume internal and external APIs; contribute to the development of APIs for Atropos products
  • Work cross-functionally with clinical, engineering, product, and customer success teams

Minimum Qualifications
  • Daily hands-on practice with Python, R, or SQL - either natively or preferably in conjunction with generative AI tools (e.g., Claude, GPT-4, Cursor, Copilot)
  • Demonstrated ability to iterate toward high-quality outputs through structured, self-directed quality checks - owning the end-to-end process
  • Working knowledge of clinical terminology standards (ICD-10, CPT, SNOMED, LOINC, RxNORM/NDC) and ability to rapidly learn the clinical nuances of how these ontologies are applied in real-world healthcare
  • Ability to produce clean, reusable code and content that others can build on
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English
  • Ability to work within standard US business hours (any US time zone)
