Your Role

The Healthcare Quality Affordability (HQA) Analytics team plays a key role in discovering information hidden in vast amounts of data that can lead to smarter decisions and deliver better service for our customers and contain the rising cost of healthcare. The Medical Care Programs division oversees vendor partners to deliver clinical programs for members and providers. The Medical Informatics, Principal, will focus on program and vendor reporting, performance, analysis and insights. This role reports to the Senior Manager of HQA Analytics.

Responsibilities

Your Work

In this role, you will:
  • Identify, elicit, and document business requirements for vendor program reporting by collaborating with stakeholders and subject matter experts
  • Utilizes advanced data visualization and presentation tools to create executive-ready decks, dashboards, and reports, effectively communicating analytical insights to audiences ranging from executives to operational and clinical teams
  • Analyze program, operational, financial, and clinical performance against targets, forecasts, and benchmarks, providing actionable recommendations to improve outcomes and vendor performance.
  • Provide thought leadership and analytical expertise in evaluating vendor program effectiveness, identifying opportunities for improvement, and supporting strategic decision-making
  • Serve as a strategic partner and change agent, driving adoption of new processes, technologies, and analytical capabilities across the organization
  • Identify, integrate, and manage complex data sources across multiple systems to support enterprise reporting, analytics, and business intelligence needs
  • Develop and maintain standardized reporting frameworks and templates tailored to line-of-business, client, employer, and stakeholder requirements
  • Design, automate, and continuously optimize reporting processes and data delivery solutions to improve scalability, accuracy, and operational efficiency
  • Drive stakeholder communication; acting as a liaison between business teams and technical teams to ensure alignment


Qualifications

Your Knowledge and Experience
  • Requires college education or equivalent experience
  • Preferred master's degree
  • Requires SAS Certified Base Programmer Credential or equivalent and SAS Certified Advanced Programmer Credential or equivalent
  • Requires at least 10 years of prior relevant experience
  • Requires at least 5 years of experience in Health Care (managed care, academic, or gov't payer)
  • Requires 5 years of Data & Analytics - Knowledge of interpreting reports, trends, and forecasts to support decision-making
  • Serves as a subject matter expert in enterprise data visualization platforms (Power BI, Tableau), leading the design and governance of scalable analytics solutions, establishing visualization best practices, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization
  • Highly proficient in SQL, Snowflake, Databricks, and/or SAS, with the ability to query and analyze large, complex datasets, develop scalable analytical solutions, and translate findings into actionable business and clinical insights
  • Demonstrated expertise in translating complex analytical findings into actionable business, operational, and clinical insights for diverse stakeholder audiences
  • Proven ability to develop executive-level presentations, dashboards, and strategic recommendations that influence decision-making and drive organizational performance.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data quality management, reporting automation, and analytics best practices
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, directors, managers, and subject matter experts
  • Ability to independently lead complex analytical initiatives, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment


Hybrid

This role requires employees to be in-office based on our hybrid workplace model, balancing purposeful in-person collaboration with flexibility. For most teams, this means coming into the office two days each week.

Employees living more than 50 miles from an office location will work with their manager to determine in-office time based on business need.
