DescriptionLoma Linda University Faculty Medical Group and the Loma Linda University Health Transplant Institute are seeking an accomplished, board-certified Transplant Hepatologist to serve as Medical Director of Liver Transplantation and Hepatology.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced transplant hepatologist to lead and further develop a high-volume, established liver transplant and hepatology program serving the Inland Empire and surrounding regions. The Medical Director will provide clinical and strategic leadership for the liver transplant and hepatology service line, working collaboratively with transplant surgery, hepatology faculty, advanced practice providers, nursing, administration, and other multidisciplinary partners. The successful candidate will join a collaborative team of transplant hepatologists and advanced practice providers and will have the opportunity to shape the continued growth of the program, including expansion of transplant services, regional hepatology outreach, transplant oncology.
Candidates should possess:
- MD or DO degree
- Board certification in Transplant Hepatology and Gastroenterology
- Current unrestricted California medical license or eligibility for California licensure
- Significant clinical experience in liver transplantation and management of advanced liver disease
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills
- Commitment to multidisciplinary care, education, quality improvement, and program development
Academic appointment and rank will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and academic accomplishments.
About the Program
The Loma Linda University Liver Transplant Program is one of the largest liver transplant programs in California, performing approximately 100-120 deceased-donor liver transplants annually. The program provides comprehensive care for patients with advanced liver disease and liver transplantation throughout the Inland Empire and surrounding regions, with regional outreach clinics in Palm Springs, Murrieta, and Riverside.
The Transplant Institute also supports high-volume kidney and pancreas transplant programs and has an established living donor kidney transplant program, providing a strong institutional foundation for continued growth and innovation in transplantation.

Compensation & Benefits
Expected annual base compensation: $475,000 - $525,000
Compensation commensurate with the candidate's experience, qualifications, leadership responsibilities, and academic rank.
