Medical Director, Occupational Health Department

Part-Time or Full-Time (Flexible)

Position Summary:

The Medical Director for the Occupational Health Department will provide clinical leadership, strategic direction, and oversight for all occupational health services at Wilson Health. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care and supports a safe, healthy work environment. The Medical Director will collaborate closely with Human Resources, Infection Control, Employee Health, and other hospital departments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide medical oversight for occupational health programs, including pre-employment screenings, immunization programs, surveillance, and injury management
  • Develop, implement, and review occupational health policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements (OSHA, CDC, state/local laws)
  • Serve as the primary clinical consultant on occupational health matters, including workplace injury, exposure management, and fitness-for-duty evaluations
  • Lead outbreak and exposure investigations in collaboration with Infection Control
  • Provide medical guidance on disability, workers' compensation, and return-to-work determinations
  • Oversee medical record documentation and maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA
  • Educate and advise staff on occupational health and safety topics
  • Participate in hospital committees related to workplace safety and employee wellness
  • Supervise and mentor occupational health clinical staff

Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
  • Board Certification in Occupational Medicine, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or related specialty
  • Valid Ohio medical license
  • Experience in occupational health strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations (OSHA, ADA, DOT, FMLA, etc.)
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills

Schedule:
  • Flexible; position can be structured as part-time or full-time
