Job Summary:We are currently seeking a full-time Medical Director for the Suffolk County House of Correction in Boston, MA.
Responsibilities- Provide timely and appropriate medical care of the inmate patient population in accordance with community and national standards of care.
- Provide overall supervision of clinical staff services.
- Works collaboratively on clinical matters with internal and external medical providers and vendors.
- Evaluate the healthcare needs of the inmate population, reviews, and approves clinical policies, protocols, current medical programs, and emergency plans as necessary (at least annually).
- Acts as the health care program's clinical representative with visitors, in discussions, meetings and audit and accreditation reviews.
- Adhere to, safely enforces, and follows security procedures and regulations for security related policies and procedures, key control, sharps inventories and controlled substances.
- No on-call duties required.
- No travel required.
Schedule- Full-time 40 hours a week
- Day shift, Monday-Friday, flexible hours
SalaryRequirements
Qualifications & Education:- Education: Medical Degree
- Must possess a current Massachusetts license.
- Current DEA registration must be in good standing.
- Must be Board Certified/eligible or qualified by state laws and regulations to practice medicine.
- Experience in primary care specialty in corrections or managed care delivery preferred.
- Hold current CPR certification.
Physical Requirements:- Regularly required to stand; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move over 35 pounds.
- Regularly able to adequately perform CPR.
