Medical Director

Position Description:

The Medical Director ensures all examinations meet VA standards for clinical sufficiency, accuracy, and evidence based medical judgment. They provide the clinical leadership necessary to oversee hundreds of examiners and multiple specialty disciplines. Their guidance ensures exam results withstand VA adjudication and appellate review.
This position is located in Fairfax, VA but may also be worked from our Lafayette, LA office.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Lead clinical policy, oversight, and DBQ compliance
Supervise examiner credentialing, training, and remediation
Review complex DBQs, SHA/SHPE exams, and ACE determinations
Oversee specialty coverage and examiner performance
Serve as lead clinical liaison with VBA and MDEO clinical officials

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

MD/DO with active license
Board certification in a core specialty (Internal Med, Psych, Ortho, etc.)
8-10 years clinical leadership experience
Experience supervising multi specialty clinical teams
Familiarity with telehealth, disability evaluations, and DBQs
Desired qualifications/non essential skills required:
Prior VA or military medical exam experience
Telemedicine certification
Experience with quality assurance and clinical auditing

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $161,400.00 $310,700.00.
