JOB DESCRIPTION:Minimum Qualifications: M.D. or D.O. Degree. Currently licensed in Florida, Board Certification or Board Eligible in Psychiatry, previous physician supervisory experience.

Essential Functions/Job Duties:- Directs and supervises physicians, ARNPs, PAs, residents, and medical students in inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Provides staff training as mutually agreed and time permits.
- Develops and oversees the medical practices of the organization.
- Develops, reviews, and implements policies and procedures related to prescribing practices and clinical protocols for the medical staff.
- Assumes responsibilities for other medical programs or projects assigned by CEO or Executive Leadership.
- Monitors Medical Services to assure compliance with applicable corporate, state, federal, and certification standards and regulations.
- Conducts psychiatric evaluations for referred clients to meet clinical and/or administrative requirements, conducts psychiatric disability determination evaluation (SSI) for referred clients, and prepares required reports.
- Evaluates referred clients for medication management and provides prescriptions for medication when appropriate; performs and documents AIMS evaluations on clients at a minimum of every six months, when indicated.
- Reviews and signs treatment plans, treatment plan reviews, and other similar documents for assigned clients as required by regulatory rules or third party insurers.
- Initiates Baker Act/Marchman Act involuntary treatment documents and facilitates admission to an appropriate inpatient facility when indicated.
- Provides consultation to staff regarding client diagnosis and treatment, treatment program development, referral options, and other similar topics.
- Reviews medical history and physical exam and diagnostic testing reports, and refers clients for follow-up medical care when indicated.
- Consults with other physicians, as needed, to facilitate effective client care.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Interviewing, hiring, and training medical staff; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Work Environment/Physical Demands: Operates in a professional office environment and spends time in outpatient and inpatient behavioral health, forensic and addiction treatment settings. Works in well-lighted areas. Sits, stands, bends, lifts and moves intermittently during work hours. Is subject to frequent interruptions. Is involved with clients, residents, family members, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., in a behavioral health setting. The employee is regularly required to observe the environment and to use speech and hearing to interact with others in person, via telephone, using computer technology and in writing and attend community meetings and events. Reasonable accommodations will be made as needed.
Position Type, Expected Hours of Work and Travel:This is a full time, exempt position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday days. Frequent local travel is required. Some other days may be required for special events.
