Job Description:

SHIFT: M-F 6a-2:30p
• Attends department meetings and engages in positive dialogue to support department objectives.
• Obtains high-quality scans by following proper exam protocols and adapting procedures to each patient's medical situation.
• Confirms patient and exam accuracy using two patient identifiers before administering exams.
• Performs, documents, and reports all procedures in accordance with departmental policy.
• Reviews images and completes ultrasound worksheets and/or reports promptly if applicable, re-scanning patients as requested.
• Communicates and collaborates with the multidisciplinary team, including notifying physicians of abnormal findings.
• Utilizes computer systems to update exam status, manage orders, and ensure accurate charges.
• Operates and maintains ultrasound equipment safely, adhering to infection control standards.
• Performs a full range of diagnostic ultrasound procedures and rotates between multiple departments as needed.
• Assists with clinical instructions and serves as a resource to less experienced employees.
• Participates in performance improvement activities and contributes to process improvement initiatives.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Demonstrates knowledge of Vascular anatomy and physiology [Required]
• Abdomen, Abdominal Doppler, and Vascular procedures [Required]
• Demonstrates ability to perform carotid exams, abdominal exams, upper and lower extremity arterial/venous studies with ankle brachial indexes, PVR, post vein ablations procedures, and imaging of pre-operative/post-operative bypass grafts, stents and endarterectomies [Required]
• Ability to learn and master new tasks related to the computer and AGFA Pacs system [Required]
• Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of various diverse backgrounds [Required]
• Ability to function independently with little or no supervision [Required]
• Ability to read and write legibly in English and perform basic mathematics skills [Required]
• Ability to communicate effectively [Required]
• Ability for independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative [Required]
• Knowledge of PACS and associated equipment [Preferred]
• Good organizational skills [Preferred]
• Computer proficiency in Word, Outlook [Required]
