Responsibilities:
Develop, coordinate, and execute media engagement strategies that support operational objectives, strategic communication priorities, and senior leader communication efforts.
Research, draft, and coordinate responses to media inquiries, public affairs guidance, talking points, press statements, and other communication products.
Monitor global, regional, and local media coverage to identify emerging narratives, breaking developments, misinformation, and issues affecting mission objectives.
Advise senior leaders and designated spokespersons on media engagement strategies, messaging, interview preparation, and communication risks.
Develop media engagement packages, preparatory materials, background papers, briefing books, and executive communication products for senior leader engagements.
Coordinate with public affairs offices, communication teams, operational staffs, and mission partners to ensure messaging consistency and synchronization across activities.
Produce media analysis, coverage assessments, and executive summaries that inform leadership decision-making and communication planning.
Support press briefings, media events, interviews, and public engagements by coordinating logistics, developing supporting materials, and providing real-time communication support.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience supporting public affairs, media operations, strategic communications, journalism, communications planning, or related mission areas.
Demonstrated experience developing media engagement strategies, press responses, executive communication products, and communication support plans.
Experience monitoring media environments, analyzing news coverage, and assessing information trends to support operational and strategic objectives.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience advising senior leaders and preparing high-visibility communication products.
Desired Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Strategic Communications, International Relations, or a related field.
Experience supporting Combatant Commands, Joint Task Forces, government communication organizations, or multinational communication efforts.
Demonstrated experience integrating media operations with Information Operations (IO), Operations in the Information Environment (OIE), strategic communications, or influence activities.

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$65,000 - $136,500
