PositionThe Dublin San Ramon Services District is recruiting for two (2) regular, full-time Mechanical Supervisors in the Mechanical Maintenance Division of the Operations Department. Under the revised organizational structure, each position will provide dedicated oversight to one of two major operational areas within the Division:
- Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and the DERWA Recycled Water Treatment Plant (RWTP)
- District's field-based operations, including LAVWMA, potable water distribution and collection system assets, as well as fleet and facilities maintenance
Under direction, organizes and provides direction and oversight for a section of a comprehensive mechanical operations program of the District which may include water, wastewater, and recycled water equipment, fleet, energy co-generation systems, and facilities repair and maintenance functions and activities; ensures that division operations and maintenance functions meet applicable laws, regulations, and District policies; performs routine to complex mechanical duties; and performs other duties as assigned.

- Operational Excellence - Skilled in resource allocation, workflow monitoring, and computerized maintenance management systems to ensure quality service delivery.
- Safety & Compliance - Strong knowledge of safety standards, regulations, and emergency repair procedures, with a track record of enforcing compliance, confined rescue team experience, fluent in confined space entry procedures and protocols, and familiar with traffic controls
- Communication & Collaboration - Clear and effective communicator, both written and verbal, skilled at fostering positive relationships across divisions, external agencies, and the public.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED Receives direction from the Mechanical Superintendent. Exercises direct and general supervision over technical staff.

Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade and two (2) years of responsible work experience comparable to a Dublin San Ramon Services District Senior Mechanic, including two (2) years in a lead capacity.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONSPossession of a Class C Driver's License required by the State of California, Department of Motor Vehicles, to perform the duties of the position. Continued maintenance of said driver's license in compliance with established District vehicle operation standards, and the ability to be insured for the operation of a vehicle/District vehicle in accordance with the terms and conditions of the District's insurance program are conditions of continuing employment. The CSRMA driving standards are included herein by reference.
Possession and maintenance of a California Water Environment Association Mechanical Technology certification is desirable.
Possession of a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiac Care Provider certificate and First Aid certificate is required within one (1) year of employment.
Other Recruitment Standards ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTSIncumbents in this class are required to participate in the District's Shave-on-Demand policy when required to wear respiratory protection or other safety equipment.
DISASTER SERVICE WORKER All Dublin San Ramon Services District employees are, by State and Federal law, Disaster Service Workers. The roles and responsibilities for Disaster Service Workers are authorized by the California Emergency Services Act and are defined in the California Labor Code. In the event of a declaration of emergency, any employee of the District may be assigned to perform activities which promote the protection of public health and safety or the preservation of lives and property. Such assignments may require service at locations, times, and under conditions that are significantly different than the normal work assignments and may continue into the recovery phase of the emergency. If a "Local Emergency" is declared during the employee's shift, employees will be expected to remain at work to respond to the emergency needs of the community. If a "Local Emergency" is declared outside of the employee's shift, employees must make every effort to contact their direct supervisor or department head to obtain reporting instructions as Disaster Service Workers.
