Planners and Supervisors in the maintenance area are each-other's backup. Permanent role placement will be based on experience. These roles provide exposure to both maintenance leadership and maintenance planning functions, creating opportunities for professional growth and expanded responsibility.
Key FunctionsPlanner:- Plan weekly work across operations, maintenance, engineering, and contractors.
- Prioritize work orders to ensure critical maintenance activities are completed safely and efficiently while minimizing operational disruptions.
- Maintain a rolling three-week maintenance forecast that enables resource optimization, improved scheduling efficiency, and proactive equipment maintenance.
- Lead weekly scheduling and outage planning meetings to ensure work is clearly defined, properly resourced, and ready for execution.
- Manage maintenance backlogs to ensure timely resolution of equipment issues and sustained asset reliability.
- Create detailed Gantt schedules using MS Project for shutdowns.
- Act as primary area scheduler for Total Mill Outages under Mill Coordinator guidance.
Supervisor:- Lead and develop a skilled maintenance workforce focused on safety, quality workmanship, and continuous improvement.
- Schedule and execute maintenance work that improves equipment reliability, reduces unplanned downtime, and supports production goals.
- Inspect work in progress and ensure high-quality results.
- Enhance preventive and predictive maintenance programs to increase equipment availability and reduce maintenance costs.
- Build team capability through coaching, mentoring, and performance development to strengthen workforce effectiveness.
- Support planning and supervision during vacancies or breakdowns.
- Foster a strong safety culture through effective communication, employee engagement, and continuous reinforcement of safe work practices.
- Promote safe work practices and participate in budgeting and planning.
- Inspect repairs and plan work orders as needed.
- Perform administrative duties including reporting and payroll.
Requirements- Knowledge of industrial safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
- Trades qualifications in mechanical trade or mechanical engineering degree.
- Skill in Precision Maintenance and SAP preferred.
- Experience with MS Project and CMMS systems (SAP, MAPCON, MAXIMO, etc.).
- Ability to read drawings, estimate time/materials, and coordinate trades.
- Strong planning, organizing, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead problem solving and analyze maintenance results.
- Paper/Pulp Mill industry experience highly desirable.
This position is primarily a day-shift position with infrequent weekend or off-shift support during outages, breakdowns, or special projects.
