About the roleReporting to the Engineering Supervisor, the person in this role is responsible for planning, designing, and executing construction projects aimed at developing and improving underground mining infrastructure. He/she also conducts field monitoring and coordinates construction activities.
Essential Duties- Design, review, and approve detailed construction plans in compliance with safety standards and applicable regulations
- Coordinate and monitor the progress of all phases of construction projects:
- Planning and scheduling
- Compliance reporting
- Resource allocation
- Cost management
- Conduct field visits to ensure quality control of construction work
- Establish construction project budgets, monitor them, and provide cost forecasts
- Manage tenders and material procurement for construction projects
- Comply with, understand, and promote company policies and regulations, particularly regarding health and safety
- Perform any other related duties within the scope of the position
Training & Experience- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Engineering
- Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience in construction project management, preferably in underground environments
- Mining modules 1 to 5 and 7
- Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
- Valid general explosives permit
- Good computer skills - Microsoft Office suite and Deswik (an asset)
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset

Working Conditions- Eleonore mine site (fly-in, fly-out from Montreal, Chibougamau, Matagami, Rouyn-Noranda, Val D'Or and Wemindji)
- Schedule: 8 days on, followed by 6 days off
