Opportunity Overview

As a Mechanical Engineer within the Silicon Photonics (SiPh) Engineering team, you will contribute to the development of high-performance optical test systems used in advanced semiconductor manufacturing. This role offers hands-on ownership across the full product lifecycle, working in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.

  • Design and develop precision mechanical components and assemblies using CAD tools, supporting optical and electromechanical systems
  • Own designs from concept through prototyping, validation, and release to production
  • Build, assemble, and debug prototype hardware, supporting system-level testing and troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability requirements
  • Create detailed engineering documentation, including drawings with GD&T, BOMs, and change management records
  • Support new product introduction and early production builds, working with manufacturing and supply chain partners

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks, including part modeling, assemblies, and drawings
  • Experience creating fabrication drawings using GD&T and applying tolerance analysis principles
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping, assembly, and testing of mechanical systems
  • Familiarity with PLM systems and change management processes (e.g., ECN/ECO)
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and collaboration skills in cross-functional engineering environments


Additional Information

  • Experience with optical/mechanical integration, FEA tools, or precision electromechanical systems is a plus
  • Ability to travel up to ~10% as needed for project or customer support

Compensation:
The base salary range for this role is $79,800 - $127,600. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.

Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
