Job Description
You will be the Senior Mechanical Engineer for the Mechanical Design Team. Our team creates and delivers high performance mechanical solutions for advanced defense systems, turning program requirements into robust, producible hardware.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Senior Mechanical Engineer you will own the end to end design of complex mechanical components, translating multidisciplinary requirements into detailed 3 D models and production ready drawings. You'll work side by side with peers, configuration management, and manufacturing to keep programs on schedule and on budget.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Developing mechanical designs of varying complexity using solid modeling tools (PTC Creo) and producing accurate engineering work products.
• Reviewing and integrating requirements from stress, dynamics, systems, thermal, manufacturing, and other disciplines into your designs.
• Applying Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure fit, form, and function meet program needs.
• Collaborating with configuration management and manufacturing to validate designs and resolve issues quickly.
• Delivering error free, cost effective, and producible engineering designs that enable program milestones.
• Communicating technical concepts clearly-both orally and in writing-to diverse stakeholders.
• Supporting travel to customer sites, supplier facilities, or test locations as needed.

This position is in Archbald, PA.
MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field and 5-7 years experience.
- Mechanical design, system, and/or manufacturing experience that includes the use of interpretation of engineering design drawings.
- Mechanical design experience performing conceptual and detailed CAD modeling in PTC CREO, creation of 2D production type drawings, drawing revisions, releases and engineering change notices using Enterprise Product Data Management (EPDM).
- Fundamental understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and of ASME Y14.5.
- Understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including structures, mechanisms, materials and analysis.
- Experience with one or more engineering CAD tools (PTC Creo, NX, Solid Works, I-DEAS, etc.) and model based product definition.
- Good oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain a DoD secret security clearance.

Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 - $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

Premium Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $98,300 - $170,315. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
