Full Job Description
We're looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a Professional Engineer (PE) license to join our Bozeman, Montana team and help shape meaningful projects throughout Montana and the region.

As part of our full-service design team, you'll work alongside architects, engineers, planners, and designers to create practical, high-quality solutions for a wide variety of building types. From schools and office buildings to multifamily housing, hospitality, retail, and community spaces, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to projects that make a lasting impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor mechanical design staff through project design and construction phases.
  • Develop practical, efficient, and constructible mechanical solutions to meet project goals.
  • Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to design HVAC and plumbing systems, prepare construction documents, and develop technical specifications.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, manufacturers, vendors, and internal project teams.
  • Perform major equipment sizing and selection.
  • Ensure designs meet Jackola's quality standards and project requirements.
  • Utilize industry software to perform heating, cooling, ventilation, and plumbing load calculations.
  • Support construction administration activities and respond to contractor questions during construction.

  • Ability to manage priorities, exercise sound judgment, and mentor junior staff.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and strategic thinking to support long-term project and client goals.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Bluebeam, Autodesk Revit, and Carrier HAP or a similar energy modeling platform.
