Overview

Kimley-Horn is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join the Tampa, Florida (FL) office! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

 

  • Ability to oversee the plumbing design of projects from concept to completion, including continuous interface with the design team and clients.
  • Mentor and coordinate the work of designers and other technical staff on various mechanical or multi-discipline projects
  • Manage and deliver tasks under minimal supervision and guidance
  • This is an exciting opportunity to work with a team of engineers and designers on a variety of projects
  • You will flourish on both building meaningful internal and external professional relationships
  • Ability to lead production in Revit & AutoCAD
  • You will work closely and collaboratively with other industry leading professionals, various jurisdictions, and contractors on multiple project types including:
    • Office
    • Residential Highrise
    • Mixed-use/ Retail
    • Municiple
    • Hospitality
    • Transportation
    • Industrial/Manufacturing
    • Sustainability/ Decarbonization
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of related experience
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
  • Proven design experience with comfort and HVAC systems and related controls
  • Proven design experience with plumbing systems including water, sewer, and gas
  • Experience producing engineering and energy studies including comcheck, Title 24
  • Experience mentoring and coordinating the work of EITs, designers, and other technical staff on various mechanical or multi-discipline projects
  • Able to manage and deliver tasks under minimal supervision and guidance
  • Experience in AutoCAD and Revit is required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and critical thinking ability
  • Ability to work individually or in a multi-discipline team
