Full Job Description
As a Mechanical Engineer for IQSIGHT LLC, you will design and develop complex electromechanical systems for next generation moving camera products. You will serve as a technical resource on development projects, making critical architecture, design and risk decisions. Strategic: • Perform hands on mechanical and electromechanical subsystem design from concept through series production • Act as engineer on development projects, working on a small team and driving technical execution • Develop subsystem architectures that meet system-level requirements for performance, cost reliability, serviceability and time-to-market • Participate in cross-functional design review and technical risk assessments (FMEA, Focus Area Matrices) • Work with senior technical staff in developing key architectures for the future of the portfolio Operational: • Support lifecycle management efforts including EOL, cost down, and field complaint investigations • Maintain complex BOM structures supporting multiple product variants • Partner with international suppliers on tooling development, DFM reviews, and process validation • Work in a culture of continuous improvement with regular retrospectives • Support team in risk management and mitigation strategies • Design, model, and validate complex mechanical assemblies and mechanisms • Support PCBA packaging, enclosure design, and thermal management strategies • Develop and validate prototypes through simulation and physical testing • Perform tolerance analysis, GD&T definition, and design for manufacturability and reliability • Implement designs considering global environment, regulatory and compliance requirements People: • Mentor and support the development of early-career engineers • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure system-level integration and success Who You Are: Success in this role requires a system thinking approach and rigorous attention to detail. Qualifications Required: • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering • 5+ years of experience in electromechanical product development, including products released to series production • Demonstrated experience designing mechatronic systems integrating mechanical and electronic hardware • Experience as an engineer, planning, directing and checking the activities of junior colleagues • Strong communication skills with the ability to distill complex technical topics into actionable decisions Preferred: • MCAD/ECAD fluency [Creo Preferred] • Thermal and structural simulation (static & dynamic) • Experience designing for global compliance and environmental requirements • GD&T (ISO and ASME) • Design for vibration, shock and reliability • Design experience with multiple materials: sheet-metal, die-casting, plastic injection molding (optical and structural), CNC machining, and die-cutting • Experience with optics, including lens design for illuminators • Experience with basic machine shop equipment • Knowledge of integrating AI tools into engineering tasks • Demonstrated ability in problem solving activities employing tools such as 8D & CAR. • Quality certification: ASQ DFSS Greenbelt or similar. This role is hybrid with 3 days in-office per week. Candidates must live in a commutable distance to Lancaster, PA site. Travel Expectation, 10% (Domestic and International). Position may require early morning or late-night meetings with development teams in Asia & Europe.
