We are seeking a Mechanical Designer for a hybrid assignment in Hillsboro, Oregon. The selected candidate will support a collaborative multi-disciplinary group with the layout and design of mechanical systems for the installation of mechanical equipment, systems and semiconductor tools.
Hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
This position requires experience with Revit
This position can work a hybrid schedule in Hillsboro
Responsibilities
- Regular site visits to verify existing field conditions and to ensure the alignment of the design implementation process with the project's observational reports and specifications
- Coordinating effectively with project engineers, project coordinators, engineering coordinators, construction trades and other team members to ensure that the design/as-built reflects the project's objectives
- Providing comprehensive drawing packages that are clear, accurate and follow the site design standards
- Verifying, updating and drafting comprehensive chemical/mechanical plans including piping layout, equipment layout, schedules and P&IDs
- Verifying, updating and drafting detailed piping plans including pipe routing, instrument and valve locations, and equipment layout
- Drafting hook-up drawings for tool-install packages
- Drafting Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) that show the interaction among system components and equipment
- Producing detailed flow diagrams for both gas-side and water-side systems (HVAC, hydronics and fire protection)
- Implementing isometric views into design packages to assist in field installation and understanding
- Providing custom installation details for the more complex portions of projects
- Conducting punch-list walks on completed projects to ensure the final implementation adheres to the design intent
- Participate in the updating and drafting of new and existing systems for design change, cost reductions and manufacturability
- Assist with the evaluation of vendors
- Perform and participate in code review and discussion
- Provide drawing and drafting support for details, vendor submittals, and perform engineering drafting, drawing review, drawing control and related services required in the design of engineered systems (i.e., tank and/or vessel design)
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years of Mechanical Design experience in HVAC, hydronics, process piping, exhaust and/or plumbing
- Proficient with Revit, AutoCAD and Navisworks
- Hands-on experience with on-site punch list walks and field verifications
