Job Summary

Ability to work general supervision with limited review, this position is responsible for Design and Development of Propulsion Systems, Fuel Systems, and Test Equipment components and layouts with an effectively approaches for resolving a wide range of difficult engineering problems. Assignments are normally outlined in terms of overall objectives and anticipated results. Work is reviewed at milestones or at completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. Documents Design issues, communicates results to engineering staff and makes technical presentations as required. May coordinate segments of a specific project and may have frequent inter- organization and customer contact on difficult technical issues. Provides direction to technical staff and may provide direction to less experienced professional staff.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop Prototype Hardware for Propulsion and Fuel system as well as some involvement with Flight Hardware.
  • Work with CAD Designer and other engineering support organizations, produce documentation such as engineering drawing, source control drawings, system specifications, and test procedures.
  • Manage Large Assemblies and Parts within given CAD systems.
  • Maintains the Strict Confidentiality of Sensitive Information.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Practical design/analysis experience an innovative thinking.
  • Computer Literate with versatile knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Excel, Work, Visio, and Power Point.

Job Qualifications

  • Typically requires a bachelors degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
  • Demonstrated and extensive technical expertise and application of engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice with the ability to organize, plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones with some experience in project leadership.
  • Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout evolving environments.
  • Strong communication, presentation skills are required enabling and effective Leadership interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff, customers, potential customers, and government representatives.
  • Must be able to work on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment.
  • Must be Proficient in PTC Creo, Windchill, NX, and Teamcenter.
  • Must have working Knowledge of ASME Y14.5-2009 and GD&T.
  • Must have working Knowledge of Sheet Metal Fabrication, Machine Parts Design, and Weldments.
  • Must Have a working Knowledge of Materials and Material Finishes.
  • Able to work extended hours as required.
  • An EIT (Engineer in Training) certificate is desirable.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance is required.
