The
Mechanical Design Engineer will support the space program located in
Cape Canaveral, FL. Engineers & Designers will work closely with MGSE engineers to provide components or portions of system designs to include handling, lifting, test, assembly and transportation of mechanical, and electrical components. The selected candidates will be responsible for engineering documentation, drawing/Computer Aided Design (CAD) maintenance and verification, and support of cross-discipline product development.
RESPONSIBILITIES:- Use CREO to develop plans, drawings, models, revise and initiate formats for parts, assemblies, and installation engineering.
- Create new parts, drawings, BOMs, assemblies, simplified reps, shrink-wraps.
- Support team members with design knowledge.
- Complete layout drawings prepared by others in accordance with standard engineering drafting practices (ASME Y14.5).
- Prepare complete production detail drawings.
- Complete design modifications to improve quality of product or facilitate manufacturing operations.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Requires ability to obtain security clearance.
- Must have a bachelor's degree in the field of engineering.
- Must have 3+ years of recent and related work experience.
- Professional experience using a 3D CAD system (Creo, NX SolidWorks, etc.)
- Experience with machine tool design or tool modification.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
WORK LOCATION: - This position is located onsite; some travel may be required.
- Schedules are subject to change based on the requirements of the position and/or customer needs.
STANDARD BASTION REQUIREMENTS:- Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and TEAMS.
