Full Job Description
Accenture Federal Services is seeking Mechanical Design Engineers for an up-conversion team on a modernization program for a major aerospace & defense manufacturer. The role performs the core mechanical conversion work: turning legacy 2D drawings and 3D solid models into fully annotated, model-authoritative definitions that can be built directly from the model, then releasing them into the client's PLM system. The work: • Build model-based definitions in Creo that carry the manufacturing intent in the model itself: geometry plus semantic PMI such as dimensions, GD&T, hole callouts, section views, and datums, aligned to ASME Y14.5 and Y14.41. • Add the required notes and markings, for example data-rights, distribution, and export statements, and populate model parameters such as mass and material properties and revision data. • Run automated model checks, for example Creo ModelCHECK, resolve the errors, and confirm annotations are tied to geometry so downstream systems can consume them rather than treating them as graphical-only notes. • Create the model-based BOM for each assembly, covering both the manufactured and as-installed states, and reconcile it with the PLM EBOM. • Produce neutral derivative files, for example STEP AP242 and QIF, and 3D PDFs, to a consistent naming convention. • Account for interfacing structure during conversion, support obsolescence review, and provide process and template improvements to the technical lead. Here's what you need: • 3 - 7 years of mechanical CAD (MCAD) design in a parametric tool such as CATIA, NX, SolidWorks, or Creo. • Working knowledge of GD&T fundamentals (ASME Y14.5) and solid-modeling best practice. • Readiness to learn PTC Creo MBD and the program's model-based process through structured training. • Comfort working to a documented validation checklist and design standard. • U.S. Citizenship is required. Bonus points if you have: • Hands-on PTC Creo or Creo MBD. • Model-based definition or MBE up-conversion and remastering work. • PLM experience such as Windchill, and ASME Y14.41 semantic-PMI authoring. • Interoperability tools such as Capvidia MBDConnect, STEP AP242, or QIF. • Aerospace & defense industry experience. As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides reasonable ranges of compensation for hired roles based on labor costs in the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia, and the city of Cleveland.
