Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate: $38.15 - $49.60 / hour

Summary

The Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and facilitation of care for patients requiring temporary mechanical circulatory support (MCS) therapies and those experiencing cardiogenic shock across a multi-campus health system. This role reports to the Nursing Director of Open-Heart Intensive Care and in collaboration with cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, emergency services, and bedside teams.

The MCS Coordinator serves as a clinical expert and resource, supporting timely identification, triage, and escalation of cardiogenic shock patients while promoting evidence-based practice, continuity of care, and optimal patient outcomes. The coordinator assists in the development and implementation of a system-wide shock program, including education, protocol standardization, and interfacility transfer processes.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program required.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in ICU or Critical Care Unit setting required. Experience caring for patients requiring temporary mechanical circulatory support (Impella, IABP, ECMO), with cardiogenic shock management, education, coordination, or program development preferred.

Certification: BLS and ACLS required. CCRN Preferred.

License: State of Florida RN license.
