Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a MBSE Systems Engineer (Senior Principal Level) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Engineering organization. This role is located in Melbourne, FL.

In this role, you will perform system engineering activities for all levels of a total system product, including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, and maintenance.  You'll also perform use case development and prepare systems engineering artifacts, including the definition of Features and Subsystem Features to be developed by program Agile Release Trains (ARTs) to implement customer-requested capabilities. Finally, you also will communicate Features and Subsystem Features relationships to a diverse group of customers, developers, engineers, subject matter experts, and users.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs systems integration, and verification for total systems.
  • Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software features.
  • Support Feature Definition, management, analysis, and traceability, to translate customer requirements and CONOPS into Features, and further allocate to lower levels.
  • Coordinate across ARTs to ensure full decomposition of Features
  • Define and execute overall system verification plan and associated products for FCA. Coordinate verification with ARTs to ensure proper verification roll-up. Manage overall verification products in support of system sell-off.
  • Work on an agile team utilizing Jira to track work progress

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a Bachelors of Science degree in a STEM field and at least 8 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a Master's Degree in a STEM field and at least 6 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a PhD and at least 4 years of relevant military / professional experience
  • Must have an active US Government Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
  • Must have experience with MBSE/SysML Modeling, with software Rhapsody, Cameo, or another modeling tool with similar purpose.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with training systems
  • Understanding of the training system lifecycle
  • Experience with aircrew simulator design and development

Primary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
