Position Purpose:Continually strive to improve the effectiveness of the Materials teams including Shipping and Receiving functions.
Essential Functions:- Coordinate flow of material to ensure 100% on-time delivery to customers.
- Coordinate planning systems to exceed customer expectations.
- Direct Shop floor scheduling
- Manage the flow of material through the plant in support of lean manufacturing and effective cost management.
- Ensure that material control and material information systems are maintained to support manufacturing and balance inventory to customer demand.
- Develop/maintain proper measurement systems to ensure compliance to delivery systems.
- Continuously improve through employee development, process improvement, and elimination of waste.
- Manage subordinates who supervise approximately 10 employees. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the units.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Education:- Bachelor's degree required
Minimum Qualifications:- Leadership experience in materials and purchasing or operations required
- High energy level and self motivation
- MRP use and knowledge required
- Lean manufacturing concepts, use and knowledge preferred
- Experience in production planning, production control and/or supplier scheduling required
- APICS certification a plus
- QAD experience a plus
