Full Job Description
Position Purpose:

Continually strive to improve the effectiveness of the Materials teams including Shipping and Receiving functions.

Essential Functions:
  • Coordinate flow of material to ensure 100% on-time delivery to customers.
  • Coordinate planning systems to exceed customer expectations.
  • Direct Shop floor scheduling
  • Manage the flow of material through the plant in support of lean manufacturing and effective cost management.
  • Ensure that material control and material information systems are maintained to support manufacturing and balance inventory to customer demand.
  • Develop/maintain proper measurement systems to ensure compliance to delivery systems.
  • Continuously improve through employee development, process improvement, and elimination of waste.
  • Manage subordinates who supervise approximately 10 employees. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the units.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.


Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Leadership experience in materials and purchasing or operations required
  • High energy level and self motivation
  • MRP use and knowledge required
  • Lean manufacturing concepts, use and knowledge preferred
  • Experience in production planning, production control and/or supplier scheduling required
  • APICS certification a plus
  • QAD experience a plus
