JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibility
• Driving continuous improvement in material performance metrics and enhancing customer satisfaction for the plant.
• Ensuring the department is adequately staffed and team members are properly trained to execute material and operational plans.
• Annually complete the departmental training and development plan.
• Conducting annual performance reviews for all direct reports and reviewing indirect reports for all Material team members.
• Providing direct leadership to the materials function and all staff within the area of responsibility.
• Ensuring compliance with BOS, ISO/IATF-16949, SOX, and customer-specific requirements.
• Collaborating with the Plant and Operations Manager to develop production plans and forecasts.
• Coordinating with the Launch Team to ensure proper execution of product launch raw material and system setup.
• Partnering with Finance to develop freight and inventory forecasts, adjusting as needed based on release information.
• Monitoring inventory adjustments and overseeing cycle counting activities.
• Ensuring regulatory compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, including CTPAT.
• Managing plant MRP requirements to meet customer expectations efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Identifying and addressing sources of waste throughout the plant, with a focus on minimizing inventory shrinkage.
• Developing and updating material procedures for all assigned work centers.
• Supervising scheduling, inventory control, and shipping/receiving operations.
• Actively participating in Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) practices, including reporting incidents and ensuring compliance with safety procedures in assigned areas.
• Setting individual personnel objectives based on a thorough understanding of each team member's job function and supporting employee development and growth.
• Safeguarding company property and equipment.
• Maintaining appropriate indirect staffing levels to support business needs and adjusting as necessary.
• Working with Corporate SCM to prepare and report monthly plant performance.
• Supporting plant safety and continuous improvement (CI) programs by integrating material support into manufacturing processes.
• Performing other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
• Complete all the training required by Adient and its customers.

Additional Information:
• Study, implement, and maintain efficient and safe work practices, procedures, and facilities.
• Coordinate with the Health, Safety, and Environmental Department and Manufacturing Engineering Department to ensure compliance with safety and efficiency requirements.
• Maintain an accident-free, high-efficiency plant operation.
• The physical demands of this position will be provided by the HSE Manager.

Qualifications/Experience
• Bachelor's degree is preferred, or an equivalent combination of four to ten years of related manufacturing experience and/or training.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and effectively communicate findings verbally or through presentations.
• Demonstrated manufacturing experience, including a proven track record of applying lean methodologies to eliminate waste and achieve cost savings.
• Willingness to take on responsibilities beyond customary duties and maintain a positive attitude.
• Proactive and shows initiative by anticipating needs and acting without waiting for direction.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ensuring clear understanding among superiors, peers, subordinates, and both internal and external customers.
• Effective team player, able to collaborate as a leader or as a supportive team member within management groups.
• Sound decision-making abilities, with the judgment to seek input when necessary and make informed choices based on available information.
