Full Job Description
Overview

This position supports Electric Boat's Materials Management activities associated with the construction support and delivery of COLUMBIA Class submarines. In this role, you will be required to interpret technical requirements. Your responsibilities would encompass program management, data management, project reporting, material availability analysis and expediting, scheduling, make or buy analysis, and metric reporting. You will also be monitoring and resolving issues with purchased or subcontract material, material ordering and scheduling, shortage resolution, and forecasting material requirement.

Additionally, you would experience significant interaction with various customers such as the following:

EB Program Offices, Ships Management, Operations, Contracts, Planning Departments, Finance, Design, Engineering, Purchasing, Planning Yard, various Quality Departments, Government Agencies, Newport News Ship Building, and EB Off-Site Departments.

The responsibilities of this role may expand to other special projects as programs develop.

You would require daily use of various reports and computer driven systems.

*This position is on site in our Groton, CT facility.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ Years Supply Chain Management, Inventory Management or project planning in a similar industry that encompasses material requirement identification, scheduling, and ordering activities.
  • Familiarity in quality control or quality analyst functions
  • Familiarity in supply chain management applications (MRPII/Oracle)
  • Demonstrated experience in using all Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel: VLOOKUP, pivot tables, macros and graph/charts

Preferred Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration
  • Military experience or Shipyard/Shipbuilding experience
  • Experience with with any of the following platforms: ARTEMIS (Electric Boat internal employees), MRPII (ERP), software relating to Construction/Design, and or TEAMCENTER PLM tool
