About the role

The purpose of the Materials & Inventory Control Manager is to achieve required levels of customer service, effective capacity planning and scheduling to ensure optimization of available site resources. In managing the Supply Chain, this position is integral to key activities related to operational improvements and change management, e.g., capital projects, new manufacturing operations start-up, new product launches and other Supply Chain management activities and business programs, that impact product supply. Position oversight of all Supply Chain Planning, Inventory and Materials Scheduling management functions, including the coordination of API's (active product ingredients), Excipients and packaging components purchasing. Also coordinates requirements and deliveries of third-party suppliers (Contract Manufacturing Operations/CMO's), Inventory Control, and Transportation / deliveries. It also develops and monitors Key Performance Indicators and processes among internal functions such as operations, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Technical and outside suppliers to assure optimum performance and high customer service. Manage continuous improvement frameworks of direct and indirect resources on areas as ERP (SAP), material flow, inventory control and overall materials management through various Planning, Purchasing and production processes. Coordinates all production related functions plan/performance with other functions SLT-1 co-workers (Operations managers, Quality Control Head & Facilities Lead.

Role Responsibilities

  • Responsible to deliver a plan to ensure on-time materials & components availability as well as shipping all finished goods as requested by internal and external customers with an effective inventory level.

  • Supports commercial launch of new products and product transfers through effective planning and procurement of materials in addition to represent Site on various regional or external (CMO) committees/task forces related to Procurement, ERP system or planning.

  • Provide priorities within Supply Chain, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Technical, Engineering, and other relevant departments to achieve customer service and financial goals.

  • Evaluates and implements when appropriate, all SAP systems enhancements to maximize utilization of automated planning and scheduling.

  • Analyzes SAP output to assure accuracy and appropriateness of department plans and actions, oversees the scheduling of plant operations to assure maximum performance. Providing necessary systems for detailed capacity analysis. Analyzes capacity output and recommends appropriate short and mid-term plans.

  • Responsible for the accuracy of Production and Inventory Control systems (Item Master, Bill of Material, Work Center Master), and Routing files to assure and effective coordination of resources (materials, equipment, and personnel).

  • Maintains effective procedures to avoid or identify and dispose of obsolete inventoried items developing and implementing effective production and inventory control policies and procedures.

  • Lead the monthly Material Review Board meeting with participation of operations, Technical and Quality leads.

  • Coordinate with the appropriate departments leads (Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Technical, Engineering and Finance) the timely resolution of issues impeding the flow or production. Elevate systemic issues requiring resources beyond the scope of the personnel participating in Tier 3 level.

  • Externally, share responsibility with the Operations managers to establish strategic plans to execute viable production plans to support customer orders and financial results. Internally, establishes departmental area objectives and inventory plans used for site budgeting.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or related field

  • 5+ Years of experience in Supply Chain / Production Planning (Required)

  • Supply Chain or Operations Management

  • Knowledge of planning processes and systems (ERP-Enterprise Resource Planning), capacity planning, staffing, production run rates, scenario planning and the associated financial impact of those variables.

  • Held positions in a manufacturing environment, covering a broad range of activities from planner, buyer, warehousing, industrial engineering and operations (e.g. Production, Engineering).

  • Demonstrated knowledge of capacity planning, scenario planning and run rate determination on a shared work center capacity environment, preferably in an FDA regulated location.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of ERP systems (SAP), delivery of improvement initiatives and implementation of KPI’s that resulted in both financial and non-financial benefits.

  • Demonstrated delivery of production, customer service, financial and inventory goals.

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Certified in Production and Inventory Management, CPIM (Preferred)

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certified (Preferred)

The salary range for this role is:$101,981 to $140,223.60 annually plus a 12% performance bonus.
