Summary:The MRB (Material Review Board) Engineer identifies, analyzes, and provides reporting on the integrity of rejected components. They will then determine the actions to be taken for components that are non-conforming to ensure final product obtained meets all the minimum design and certification requirements of Héroux-Devtek and the customer in conjunction with the Quality and Metallurgy depts.
Working in a dynamic environment, rich in operational complexity, we seek to find an MRB engineer who is strong in solving technical problems, can demonstrate judgment and sense of organization and communication at different levels of responsibility.
Main responsibilities:- Determine the acceptance or rejection of Boeing 777 and Héroux-Devtek parts on the NCR (Non-conforming Report) that did not meet production standards.
- Evaluate and analyze defects in those parts using technical documents such as: Engineering drawings, technical repair manuals, customer specifications, stress reports, etc.
- Ensure parts are structurally adequate by calculating constraints and safety factors.
- Complete testing or investigations on the manufacturing floor as needed.
- Determine whether the assembly function would be affected by any change decision.
- If so, develop a processing sequence for possible repair or condemning of the part.
- Work closely with the Stress (Metallurgy) engineering department to make final decisions.
- Document & maintain traceability in accordance with all quality standards, such as AS9100 and NADCAP.
- Complete NCR documentation with a final disposition/provision that meets customer requirements.
- Communicate information or updates to customers as needed.
Our ideal candidate:Required Qualifications:- Bachelor's in Mechanical engineering OR any engineering degree + relevant experience
- University certification with Washington Accord List
- Experience with the machining or surface treatment of hard metals
Preferred Qualifications:- Quality Dept. experience in a manufacturing setting
- Boeing training certification
- Prior experience with landing gear, 777, or military contracts
- Expertise in the following areas:
- Required design.
- Static Analysis, fatigue, and reliability.
- Functioning of a landing gear.
- Stress engineer background highly regarded.
- Working knowledge of GD&T, 2D drawings and 3D models in CATIA V5/V6.
