Job Title: Material Manager

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
The Role We are seeking a strategic and dynamic Material Manager to lead materials, logistics, inventory, and packaging operations in Kansas City, KS. This position will be responsible for ensuring the efficient flow of materials to support production and customer demand while driving inventory accuracy, supplier performance, and operational excellence. The Material Manager will lead a cross-functional team and partner closely with manufacturing, suppliers, and customers to support business growth and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities - Lead and develop managers, planners, coordinators, and logistics personnel.
- Oversee inventory management, production scheduling, receiving, transportation, and material flow.
- Partner with manufacturing, suppliers, and customers to ensure on-time delivery and inventory accuracy.
- Drive supplier performance, cycle counts, PFEP, inventory integrity, and Min/Max inventory strategies.
- Establish and monitor KOIs/KPIs to improve operational performance.
- Lead Lean and continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction and process efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and customer requirements.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of materials, supply chain, or logistics experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 3+ years of leadership experience.
- Experience in a JIT automotive manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, inventory control, production planning, and material flow.
- Experience with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
