Description

As the Master Data Manager here at Lundberg you will ensure the organization's critical data is accurate, consistent, and ready to support our business growth. This role will lead data governance, quality, architecture, and cross-functional improvement initiatives across ERP and connected business systems. Partnering with key department leaders the Master Data Manager will help build reliable processes that enable better decisions, stronger system integration, and scalable operations.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead Master Data Processes and Projects

    Own data integrity for product, customer, vendor, location, pricing, and hierarchy data.

    Establish data standards, quality metrics, validation rules, and monitoring processes.

Own Data Governance

Drive Master Data Architecture

    Partner with IT and Enterprise Architecture on data models, hierarchies, and integration processes.

    Define data flow standards across ERP, CRM, PIM, TPM, and reporting systems.

    Assess technology gaps and support the evaluation of master data management tools.


First 180 Days

During the first 180 days, you will develop a clear understanding of Lundberg's data environment, support the PLM implementation, and establish the foundation for long-term master data governance.

Master Data Integrity Assessment
  • Map key systems, data flows, and master data sources across ERP, PLM, WMS, reporting, EDI, and retail platforms.
  • Assess item, customer, vendor, location, BOM, and hierarchy data, to identify quality gaps and business impacts.
  • Recommend priorities, address quick wins, and establish baseline data-quality KPIs.


PLM Implementation Support
  • Serve as the master data subject-matter expert for the PLM implementation.
  • Partner with IT, Supply Chain, and implementation consultants on data migration, integration, cleansing, validation, and testing.
  • Help ensure master data is accurate and ready for key go-live milestones.


Master Data Governance Roadmap
  • Develop a roadmap for master data ownership, stewardship, policies, quality standards, and a business glossary.
  • Present the roadmap to leadership and obtain alignment on priorities, timing, and resources.
  • Begin implementing foundational governance practices to support long-term adoption.


Cross-Functional Relationship Building
  • Build trusted relationships with stakeholders across Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and IT.
  • Identify and engage data stewards and informal data owners across the organization.
  • Establish credibility and cross-functional support for the PLM implementation and governance roadmap.


THIS IS A HYBRID POSITION WITH THE EXPECTATION THAT YOU ARE ONSITE AT LEAST TWICE A MONTH. WEST COAST RESIDENCY PREFERRED.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in master data management, data governance, or data architecture roles.
  • Prior experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry strongly preferred.
  • Strong foundation in master data management principles and practices.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, data hierarchies, and data integration concepts (APIs, ETL, batch processing).
  • Demonstrated experience developing and enforcing data governance frameworks and stewardship models.
  • Proficiency with SQL and data analysis/reporting tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
  • Proven project management experience, including leading cross-functional teams and managing timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communication.
  • Experience with ERP systems common in CPG (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Experience with Product Information Management (PIM) systems and retailer syndication requirements.
  • Familiarity with GS1 standards and UPC/GTIN management.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and foster collaboration.


Preferred:
  • Experience with product/item master data, GDSN/retail syndication, and trade data.
  • Hands-on experience with an MDM platform
  • Project Management certification (PMP, CAPM, or Agile/Scrum certification).
  • Data governance certification (e.g., DAMA CDMP).
